How long have you been a member of EBS?
4 years… I think. I’m a bit vague because I was on the waiting list for an awfully long time before they let me in!
What is your line of work?
I’m a writer and comedian. My ideal day at work is presenting awards – you write a few jokes about a business or industry and get taken out to a very nice dinner, meet the top people in their field. Then you tell a room full of people that they are brilliant. Shortly afterwards, a cheque arrives. What’s not to like?
What are your hobbies/interests?
Once in a while I will put on my running shoes and disappear for a long run out into whatever countryside I happen to be near.
Where do you live and where do you come from?
I am an Essex boy but don’t hold that against me. I grew up in Southend, which is a seaside town, so I love being near water. And now I live on a boat on the Grand Union Canal.
Tell us a little bit about your family.
There is no ‘little’, I can only tell a lot. Christmas Day will be my grandmother’s 90th birthday. I’m very lucky to have some strong characters around me – whenever we get together there is always a bit of sparring. It’s a sign of affection.
