The EBS 60 Second Interview – Magda Dobosz
Magda is a natural coach and everything what she has been doing in her professional and personal lives is aligned with who she is as a person.
She loves getting up in the morning and sets up her mind for a whole day with a Tai Chi training in the park. Dancing is her favourite way to relax and when she is not coaching she chooses to immerse herself in the empowering literature or meet and mastermind with inspiring people.
What brought you to EBS?
My love for personal development, public speaking, and business. It’s all about the people. I was looking for the right community to join.
Was it everything you expected?
Yes. I was very clear about what I am looking for and EBS matched all the criteria. Of course I had to match all the criteria for EBS first. It’s a win-win.
How long have you been a Member?
Mentally I was one in the moment when I’ve decided to do a dance routine at the Christmas party with Vanessa Hernandez who’s a great partner to have fun with. I painted the words: ‘Unspookable Toastmaster’ on our T-shirts. It was my breakthrough.
Did you have any expectations before you came?
Yes. Connection was my main objective. I wanted to connect with quality people who set the standards, who keep progressing in their own journey to personal mastery and who care about the community. Our values needed to match.
Were your expectations fulfilled?
The club is meeting all of my expectations and it helps me to keep raising my standards.
What surprised you most about EBS?
How quickly I’ve become one of them. Mentally. It’s a great environment for growth. Highly demanding and highly supportive – I feel like I’m at home.
What has been your greatest learning as a Toastmaster?
The more you heat up gold, the purer it gets.
What is special about EBS?
People. I value each and every one of them.
What do you like best about coming to our Club?
I perform best in the mornings. I love getting up early.
What do your friends and family say about you since you joined?
Magda, we can tell that you love it!’
How has becoming a member of EBS affected you/ your life?
Every meeting is a new challenge and opportunity to learn. I’m a lifelong learner. EBS perfectly fits into my nature. I felt warmly welcomed.
What was your biggest fear before you came?
Fear? I have butterflies in my stomach before giving a speech. It’s excitement. It’s a challenge. It’s anticipation. But no fear.
How does public speaking impact your life?
It feels like public speaking is not impacting my life but rather it is my life impacting my speaking in public. I love my life. I have something to say, lots to give, and the real value to add. I am Making:A:Difference (MAD) and public speaking is one of the ways I am expressing myself and my need for contribution. It’s about being of service.
Is there anything else you would rather be doing on a Thursday morning?
No. I made the decision. I am committed. And I deliver.
